yp_match

Name

yp_match — Fetches a record from a map based on a key name.

Synopsis

string yp_match(domain, map, key);
string domain: NIS domain name
string map: NIS map name (or nickname)
string key: Key to match

Returns

A string; FALSE on error

Description

yp_match() fetches a record from a map based on the key provided. The key provided must match a key within the specified map, character for character.

If the key cannot be found, FALSE is returned.
