yp_master

Name

yp_master — Fetches the name of the master server for a map.

Synopsis

string yp_master(domain, map);
string domain: NIS domain name
string map: NIS map name (or nickname)

Returns

A string, FALSE on error.

Description

yp_master() fetches the name of the master NIS server for a map within the specified domain. If the computer is not bound to an NIS domain, an empty string is returned. If an error is encountered, FALSE is returned.
