yp_firstDescriptionyp_first() fetches the key and value for the first record in a map and returns them in a three-element associative array. The first element uses the record's key name as its key and the record's value as its value. The additional two elements in the array use key and value as their keys, and contain the value for the record key and the record value, respectively. For example, a record in the passwd map with the key of dosemu would be represented as the following array: array ( 'dosemu' => 'dosemu:x:30:', 'key => 'dosemu', 'value' => 'dosemu:x:30:' ); See also
ExampleExample 1441. Fetch the first key from the services.byname map <?php // Find the default domain $domain = yp_get_default_domain (); $map = 'services.byname'; $record = yp_first ($domain, $map) or die ("Could not fetch the first key/value pair from map '$map' in domain '$domain'"); echo "The first record in map '$map' for domain '$domain' has ", "key '$record[key]'and value '$record[value]'"; ?>
