mssql_free_result
Name
mssql_free_result — Frees memory associated with a
query.
Synopsis
bool mssql_free_result
(result);
int result: Result
identifier
Returns
TRUE on success; FALSE on error
Description
mssql_free_result() can be used as a memory
cleaner at any time after a query. All query results are
stored in memory and are read out from memory using
display functions such as mssql_fetch_row() . If you're
concerned that your query may use too much memory in your
script, calling mssql_free_result() will free the
memory allocated to the result set. You really only need
this function if you're going to be making lots of
queries in a script or if your query returns large
amounts of data.
Example
Example 774. Free query
memory
$db = @mssql_connect("server","sa","password") or die("Unable to connect to server");
mssql_select_db("pubs");
$result = mssql_query("SELECT * FROM authors");
mssql_free_result($result);
