Description

mssql_get_last_message() is a useful tool for debugging, as you can use it to return error messages from the server rather than those returned by PHP. The properties of this function can be altered by setting the severity level with mssql_min_error_severity() and mssql_min_message_severity() .

$db = @mssql_connect("server","sa","password") or die("Unable to connect to server");
mssql_select_db("pubs");
$result = @mssql_query("SELECT * FROM wrong_authors") or die(mssql_get_last_message());
