ibase_blob_openDescriptionOpens a BLOB for reading its contents in chunks with ibase_blob_get() . You obtain the correct value for blob by doing a SELECT query and fetching the respective BLOB column's content. Remember to always close the BLOB with ibase_blob_close() after you have done with it, or you risk losing data. In many cases it's simpler to just set the flagIBASE_TEXT when using ibase_fetch_row() or ibase_fetch_object() and retrieve a BLOB's contents directly into an array element or object member. NoteAvailable in PHP 3 since 3.0.7, PHP 4 since 4.0RC1
