hw_document_size — Fetches the size of a document.

int hw_document_size(doc_id);
int doc_id: Document ID of document to examine

Document size in bytes; FALSE on error

hw_document_size() fetches and returns the size of a document. The returned value is an integer giving the size of the document in bytes, or FALSE if an error occurs. As with other PHP functions, please note that you should not confuse a return value of 0 bytes with a return value of boolean FALSE.

PHP 3 since 3.0.3, PHP 4

Example 475. Get the size of a document

if (($size = hw_document_size($document_id)) === FALSE) {
    echo "Could not get the size of the document.\n";
} else {
    echo "Document is $size bytes long.\n";
