sybase_pconnect

Name

sybase_pconnect — Connects to a database.

Synopsis

int sybase_pconnect(server[, user], password[, charset]);
string server: Server name
string user (optional): Username
string password: Password
string charset (optional): Character set

Returns

Connection ID or FALSE on error

Description

Creates a persistent connection to a Sybase server, using a specified username and password. If a connection has already been made and sybase_pconnect() is called again, the current connection ID is returned.

sybase_pconnect() doesn't terminate the current database once the script has terminated, but keeps the connection open across subsequent scripts until sybase_close() has been called.
