sybase_connect — Connects to a database.

Synopsis

int sybase_connect(server[, user], pass[, charset]); string server: Server name string user (optional): Username string pass: Password string charset (optional): Character set

Returns

Connection ID or FALSE on error

Description

Creates a connection to a Sybase server using a specified username and password. The server parameter has to be a valid servername that is defined in the 'interfaces' file. If a connection has already been made and sybase_connect() is called again, the current connection ID is returned.
