pg_numfields

Name

pg_numfields — Retrieves the number of fields from a query.

Synopsis

int pg_numfields(result);
int result: Result identifier

Returns

Number of columns; FALSE on error

Description

Returns the number of fields in a table when used with pg_listfields() .

Example 1052. Display number of fields

$db = pg_connect("host=dbserver dbname=db user=dbuser password=dbpasswd");
$result = pg_exec($db,"SELECT * FROM employees WHERE age>65");
// traverse rows
for ($i=0; $i < pg_numrows($result);; $i++) {
