pg_fetch_object

Name

pg_fetch_object — Fetches row of data as an object.

Synopsis

object pg_fetch_object(result, row[, type]);
int result: Result identifier
int row: Row
int type (optional): Result type

Returns

Current record or FALSE

Description

Reads the current row in the PostgreSQL result set and returns an object with each element containing the value of the corresponding field and each key containing the field name. If looping through the result set is required, the total number of rows returned from the result set can be determined from pg_numrows() . The result type was introduced in PHP4 and is a constant with one of three values: PGSQL_ASSOC, PGSQL_NUM, or PGSQL_BOTH.

Version

Existing since version 3.0.1

Example

Example 1032. Display data from an object

$db = pg_connect("host=dbserver dbname=db user=dbuser password=dbpasswd");
$sql = "SELECT * FROM employees";
if (!$result = @pg_exec($sql)) {
    // error
    echo pg_errormessage($db);
} else {
    // display results
    for ($i=0;$i<pg_numrows($result);$i++) {
        $row = pg_fetch_object($result,$i);
        printf("%s %s\n", $row->first_name, $row->last_name);
    }
}
