mssql_result — Accesses data from a query.

string mssql_result(result, record, field);
int result: Result identifier
int record: Record number
mixed field: Field name or offset

Field contents or FALSE on error

Returns the contents of a field specified by the field name or field offset in a record set from mssql_query() . Depending on the size of the record set, it may be more efficient to use other row-retrieval functions such as mssql_fetch_row() .

Example 782. Display data from a query

$db = @mssql_connect("server","sa","password") or die("Unable to connect to server");
$result = mssql_query("SELECT * FROM authors");
for ($i=0; $i < mssql_num_rows($result); $i++) {
  echo mssql_result($result,$i,"au_lname");
  echo "<br>\n";
