mcal_date_valid
Name
mcal_date_valid — Returns
TRUE if the date
is a valid date
Synopsis
bool mcal_date_valid
(year, month,
day);
int year: The year of the
date to be checked
int month: The month of the
date to be checked
int day: The day of the date
to be checked
Returns
TRUE if the date is valid, FALSE if it is not
Description
mcal_date_valid() lets you check to make sure that
a date actually exists in a given year, such as February
29th. This can be important as many of PHP's date
functions will just wrap around if you pass them dates
that are invalid: February 29th, on a year that isn't a
leap year, will turn into March 1st.
Version
PHP 3 since 3.0.13, PHP 4 since 4.0b4
Example
Example 699. Checking if a
date exists
$year = 2001;
$month = MCAL_FEBRUARY;
$day = 29;
if (mcal_date_valid($year, $month, $day)) {
echo "This date occurs in " . $year;
} else {
echo "The date is invalid";
}
