ifx_update_char

Name

ifx_update_char — Updates the content of the char object

Synopsis

int ifx_update_char(object, content);
int object: Char object identifier
string content: New content

Returns

TRUE on success or FALSE on error

Description

Updates a char datatype. A char object identifier must forst created using ifx_create_char() and this is used as the object parameter.

Since version 3.0.6 and 4.0

// create param id for first char column
$tid = ifx_create_char("This is the text in the first CHAR column.\n");
// create param id for seccond char column
$bid = ifx_create_char("This is the text in the second CHAR column.\n");

ifx_update_char($tid,"This is still the text in the first CHAR column.\n");
ifx_update_char($bid,"This is still the text in the second CHAR column.\n");

// store both param ids in the param param array
$paramarray[0] = $tid;

// update, note the absence of a where clause(pretty useless)
