ibase_num_fields — Fetch the number of fields in a result set

Synopsis

int ibase_num_fields(result);
resource result: Result set handle

Returns

Number of fields in result set, or FALSE on error

Description

Returns the number of fields in a result set. Useful if your SQL statement returns all fields from a database of unknown size.

Note

Available in PHP 3 since 3.0.7, PHP 4 since 4.0RC1

$rs = ibase_query($db, 'select * from job');
$fields = ibase_num_fields($rs);
