imagecolordeallocate

Name

imagecolordeallocate — Deallocates a color from an image.

Synopsis

bool imagecolordeallocate(image, color);
int image: Image identifier
int color: Color identifier

Returns

TRUE on success; FALSE on error

Description

Deallocates an already allocated color from an image. Not a terribly useful function; one possible use for this would be to free memory when creating an image if plenty of colors are being used. You don't need to use it when reallocating a color to an existing color identifier.

Version

Existing since version 3.0.6

Example

Example 397. Deallocate a color

header("Content-type: image/png");
$im = imagecreate(200, 200);
$turq = imagecolorallocate($im, 0, 0, 150);
// just to prove you can reallocate
$turq = imagecolorallocate($im, 75, 200, 150);
imagefill($im, 0, 0, $turq);
imagecolordeallocate($im, $turq);
imagepng($im);
imagedestroy($im);
