ftp_mkdir

Name

ftp_mkdir — Creates a new directory on the FTP server.

Synopsis

string ftp_mkdir(, );
: FTP stream
: Directory to create

Returns

The absolute directory name on success or raises a warning and returns FALSE on error

Description

This function sends a "MKD" command to the server, the user must have create directory permissions on the FTP server for this function to work. This function does not change the current working directory to the newly created directory.

Note

This function may not return a value, depending on your FTP server. Ftp_chdir can be used to determine if the directory was created.

$ftpStream = ftp_connect("my.ftp.server");
$loginResult = ftp_login($ftpStream, "username", "password");
if ($loginResult) {
            //display the path of the directory just created
   print ftp_mkdir($ftpStream, "newdirectory");
}
