bool dba_sync(dba_handle);
resource dba_handle: Resource handle opened by dba_open() or dba_popen()

dba_sync() calls the handler database's synchronize functionality. Synching is generally used to force any changes to a database to be written to disk. Not all databases have or need this feature. Consult your database documentation for more details. As a friend noted when reading this writeup, calling dba_sync() is very much like performing a COMMIT with a database that supports transactions.

PHP Version: 3.0.8+, 4.0b2+

Example

Example 221. Sync a db file

dba_sync ($dba_handle)
    or die ("The database could not be synchronized.");
