gzseek

Name

gzseek — Moves the file pointer to a specified location

Synopsis

int gzseek(zp, Offset);
int zp: File pointer
int Offset: Bytes to move to

Returns

the position of the pointer on success, -1 on failure

Description

Seeks inside a gzip file to a specifed location. When reading gzip file, be aware that this can be slow to execute. If writing a gzip file, you are able to seek forward in the file only, and the intervening space wil be padded with 0's.
