Name

yp_order — Checks the freshness of a map

Synopsis

int yp_order(domain, map);
string domain: NIS domain name
string map: NIS map name (or nickname)

Returns

An integer; FALSE on error

Description

yp_order() fetches a map's ID number. The ID number (also called the order number) is updated whenever the map is updated and can be used to ensure that a client is using the most recent map.
