Description
This function is used to create a named pipe (FIFO, for

must refer to a location where PHP has permission to
create files. The permissions
parameter specifies the permissions to give to the
created file; the permissions on the FIFO are then based
on this value and 0666 - umask (where
umask is the current umask setting).

echo "Testing FIFO:\n";
$result = `cat < $fifo & echo "Hi there" > $fifo`;
echo "Got back '$result'\n";
} else {
echo "Could not create FIFO.\n";
