posix_mkfifo — Create a FIFO special file (POSIX.1, 5.4.2)

Synopsis

string posix_mkfifo(pathname, permissions);
string pathname: Pathname of FIFO file to create
int permissions: Permissions mode to create file with

Returns

TRUE on success and FALSE on error.

Description

This function is used to create a named pipe (FIFO, for 'First In First Out'). The name of the created special file is given in pathname ; it must refer to a location where PHP has permission to create files. The permissions parameter specifies the permissions to give to the created file; the permissions on the FIFO are then based on this value and 0666 - umask (where umask is the current umask setting).
