ldap_readSynopsis
DescriptionPerforms a search on an LDAP directory using the specified filter and a scope of the base level. The optional arguments specify various searching parameters. If a match is not found, the function returnsFALSE. Because it uses only a single level, this function is useful for fast retrieval of an entry when you already know the distinguished name. Because it only returns an entry based on a single distinguished name, if you searched on "dc=foo,dc=com" (for example), this function would not return results such as the entry for "uid=jdoe,dc=foo,dc=com".
