ifx_connect — Open Informix server connection

Synopsis

int ifx_connect([database][, username][, password]); string database (optional): Database name string username (optional): Username string password (optional): Password

Returns

Connection handler or FALSE on error

Description

Establishes a connection to an Informix server. Certain environment variables must be set for the connection to occur. These are INFORMIXDIR , INFORMIXSERVER and DBPATH.

For extra security, the parameters in this function are optional and can instead be specified in the PHP initialisation file.

When the script execution finishes or ifx_close() is called the database connection is closed.
