bindtextdomain — Associates a directory with a gettext text domain.

string bindtextdomain(domain, directory);
string domain: Text domain to bind
string directory: Directory to bind to a text domain

Path of the bound directory

bindtextdomain() associates a directory path with a gettext text domain. This domain is used by calls to textdomain() to set the directory where gettext searches for translations to messages passed to the gettext() function. It is the directory under which the language-code named subdirectories (e.g., "fr", "sp") are located.

PHP Version: 3.0.7+, 4+

Example 453. Create a text domain for textdomain() to use

bindtextdomain ('greetings', './translations');

// Set the default text domain
textdomain ('greetings');
