imagecreatefromstringDescriptionThis function is similar to other functions that create a image from a base image. This function is unique, however, in that it can create an image from a data stream, as opposed to reading the image from the filesystem. One example is that an image can be created by accessing binary image data stored in a database. The image can then be modified using the GD functions and output to the browser. ExampleExample 411. Modify an image from a mySQL BLOB mysql_connect("localhost", "user", "password"); mysql_select_db("employees"); $query = "SELECT photo FROM employee_info"; $result = mysql_query($query); $data = mysql_result($result, 0, "photo"); $im = imagecreatefromstring($data); $red = imagecolorallocate($im, 255, 0, 0); imagestring($im, 5, 20, 20, "FIRED!", $red); header("Content-type: image/png"); imagepng($im);
