ftp_site — Sends an FTP SITE command.

bool ftp_site(, );
: FTP stream
: A site command

TRUE on success or FALSE on error

Sends an FTP SITE command to the FTP server. SITE commands vary from server to server. They are often used to implement OS specific features - setting the permissions via FTP on Unix-like OSs is done via a SITE command. To see what commands are available you can manually send the REMOTEHELP command.

PHP 3>= 3.0.15, PHP 4 >= 4.0RC1

Example 374. Send a SITE command that changes permissions on a file

$ftpStream = ftp_connect("my.ftp.server");
$loginResult = ftp_login($ftpStream, "username", "password");
if ($loginResult) {
   ftp_site($ftpStream, "chmod 777 remote.txt");
