Name

filemtime — Retrieves a file's modification time.

Synopsis

int filemtime(filename); string filename:

Returns

Time; FALSE on error

Description

Returns the last modification time of the specified file. The return value is a UNIX timestamp. Note: The results of this function are cached. See clearstatcache() for details.

Example

Example 315. Print date of last file modification

$filetime = filemtime("myfile");
echo (date("d M Y", $filetime);
