aspell_new

Name

aspell_new — Initializes and loads a new dictionary.

Synopsis

int aspell_new(master, personal);
string master: Name of master dictionary to use
string personal: Optional personal dictionary to load

Returns

TRUE on success; FALSE on failure

Description

Loads the specified dictionary and creates an identifier that's used in other Aspell functions. The dictionaries are installed with Aspell or downloaded separately. A personal dictionary file can be specified for custom spellings. See the Aspell documentation for more information on creating a custom dictionary. By default, dictionaries are located in /usr/local/share/aspell.
