Temp files on host

Hi everyone,
I have just visited my host and noticed that on my host server I have what appears to be a couple of huge temp files that are taking up a heap of space, so I was wondering if they are needed?
It would save around 20 meg of space if they were able to be deleted but I don't really want to trash them if it will kill everything.
So far PHPDIG has indexed around three thousand web sites for me on my search engine and I am now wondering about just how big it can get?
The PHPDIG program is really just too good.
But onwards and upwards, it's another sunny day downunder.

Never forget that life is a practice run for the real thing? Grin

All the best

Dave,

There's a good chance those are your log files. You need to contact your hosting company before deleting them.

I'm not sure how big the database can get.

Hi Wayne, thanks for your reply, my log files are copied into a directory called logs so I doubt if they are log files, my log files are zipped up and placed there for me to see.
I pull them down and unzip them quite often to see who has been visiting me.
Googlebot appear to visit a few times a week but I don't really get indexed as such because hardly anything is available to link up too.

Many regards
Dave Andrews
