Just moved in. Bio, small help needed.

Good morning all -

I've just spent two very unproductive days trying to find a decent search script, engine, or SOMETHING for my website that I could (A) install with my limited knowledge of things, and (B) that would actually work as described. I've been through (really) dozens of scripts before I came across the friendly little mole... Its hard to believe how well it works. And how quick and easy the setup routine ran (once I stopped reversing db names/user names ..ah-hem..) Thanks for an exceptional piece of software.

Still trying to figure out how to turn off the "Choose a template" at the top of the search page, not clear to me how to turn off that variable. It said it could be done with the "template" variable added to the config.php, but not sure how to do that. That's a minor thing at the moment.

Anyway, I'm 49, live on the (very WET) Oregon coast, and run a Christian outreach ministry website. A Learning & Development specialist by profession, I work as a "trainer" for ACS, incorporated. Look forward to meeting more of you. Best wishes to all for the new year.

Welcome to the phpdig forums, mrmagill. We're glad you could join us!

Congratulations on discovering what many of us feel is one of the best website search engines around.

You can easily remove "choose a template" from your page. Have a look at this thread.

Hope you enjoy your stay here.
