Hi. The alt_try should not have shown with the latest language pack so just FTP over the version 1.8.3 pack. If you look for SOUNDEX in the search_function.php file, you'll see how alternative search choices are generated. Basically, the code tries to offer similar words or phrases using the keywords table.
