Hi simonaut, and welcome to PhpDig.net!
The HTML in http://housing.uah.edu/simon/site/ is a bit messed. For the chunks of text that are getting added, they're enclosed in their own <html> </html> tags like so:
Title of event:
<!-- REPLACE WITH YOUR OWN HEADER IF YOU LIKE -->
<html>
<head>
<meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html;charset=iso-8859-1">
<title>UAH Housing Calendar</title>
<link rel="stylesheet" href="style.css">
</head>
<body bgcolor="#ffffff">
<!-- REPLACE WITH YOUR OWN HEADER IF YOU LIKE -->
Taco Ta-Kill-Ya</body>
</html>
Description of event:
<!-- REPLACE WITH YOUR OWN HEADER IF YOU LIKE -->
<html>
<head>
<meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html;charset=iso-8859-1">
<title>UAH Housing Calendar</title>
<link rel="stylesheet" href="style.css">
</head>
<body bgcolor="#ffffff">
<!-- REPLACE WITH YOUR OWN HEADER IF YOU LIKE -->
Taco Ta-Kill-Ya</body>
</html>
For the title piece, just "Taco Ta-Kill-Ya" should be added, and for the description piece, just "Taco Ta-Kill-Ya" should be added (both title and description are the same on this given day).
For the Calendar, Residence Halls, Housing Forms, etcetera links notice how &nbsp; is used to move the text over. The &nbsp; produces a hard space character in order to move the text over.
Instead of having two tables, one for the daily event title and one for the daily event description, you might try having just one table like the one for those Calendar, Residence Halls, Housing Forms, etcetera links and move the text over using the &nbsp; hard space.
