spider does not work

I am running phpdig 1.8.8 on my Windows XP pro machine. I am on admin/index.php page and choose depth 3 and link per 11. Than run it. I only see the site record in the database. And nothing else happens. Please help me to solve this problem.

Make sure that in the php.ini allow_url_fopen = on is. Try to install it on a server / webspace...
