errors during installation of phpdig-1.8.8-rc1
 

I am getting an error when trying to install the latest version phpdig.

The error is

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: mb_eregi() in /var/www/html/phpdig-1.8.8-rc1/includes/config.php on line 109

Could some one tell me how to fix this.
