Not indexing my files
I installed phpdig on www.vematex.nl/phpdig to test it. When I index URI www.vematex.nl, it spiders and indexes all static and dynamic pages, but not my files. Only when I index URI www.vematex.nl/files, it spiders and indexes my files.
I maybe know the problem: the files are linked to from a dynamic link in the database, not from a static link. But I don't know how to solve this. Can somebody help me with this? (My 1st post, I'm Dutch, so please don't mind my language...) |
Welcome to the forum, Spider. :D
Are you trying to index Word, Excel or PDF files? If so, check out this in the phpdig documentation. Hope this helps. :) |
Thanks for reply. I have catdoc installed and when /files is indexed, I DO see what's in the .doc, so catdoc is working good.
My problem is that I need to index the files-dir apart from indexing the site-dir, otherwise the files-dir isn't indexed. |
I see. In that case, check out this thread. :)

Thanks, but my problem is not about searching, but about spidering/indexing a specific sub-dir. Other sub-dirs are indexed good. Once manually indexed the files-dir, the searching works fine.

That thread is about both spidering and searching. I'd encourage you to read it again. :)
