Put text_content in DB?
 
It is not yet completely clear to me (yes I've read the doc) what purpose the text_content directory serves.

It looks as if I get a text file there for every page that is indexed.

But then, why not store these texts in the 'spider' DB table? One more text field there can't be that bad?

As it is, you quickly get a directory with a lot of files, and many operating systems are not too happy about such directories.

Also, if all the info were in the DB, it would probably be relatively easy to make PhpDig handle several independent indexes with one code set: just redirect the code to a different set of DB tables, say with a different name prefix...
