Trouble with old forum account

Hello,

I used to have an account on this forum under the username of "jonny_noog" but had not had need to visit and login to this forum since late last year.

I have returned today and found that when I try to login, it tells me that there are new required fields that need to be filled in on my profile and to click "edit profile" to do this. I was then taken to the edit profile page, where I have now wasted about an hour and a half of my life trying to get my old account working again. It would not. Even if I filled out EVERY field in my profile, it would still tell me that there are new required fields and would not let me actually access the forums without filling in these new fields... Wherever or whatever they are...

So finally, in desperation I have made this new account. Apologies for having to make a duplicate account for my self, but unless I did this I couldn't even access this forum to post about my problem.

I have also noticed that yahoo.com email accounts are no longer allowed, though when I joined up with my original account, they were, and a yahoo.com email was what I used. I think this is a little over-kill to ban all yahoo.com emails addresses because of some spammers using this domain, that's kind of like banning all people with the name "John Smith" coming to your house because a particular "John Smith" was rude to you once. Just my opinion.

But anyway, I am happy to go back to using my old account, should a mod be able to figure out what is wrong with it, but I am just as happy to keep using this account if this is easier.

Your old account of "jonny_noog" has been merged with your new "JonnyNoog" account. Let me know if you have any further problems with your new account. As for spam, in your time away, you may have missed the hundreds of spam postings that needed to be deleted. Sure, I realize that not every free email user is a spammer, but there are a lot of spammers out there, both real people and automated bots, that until/when/if this board is updated to a newer version of vB, said email address domains will continue to be banned.
