I've been using phpdig for a while now on a large Web site, and my phpdig index was growing to upwards of 3000 pages. I noticed today that I'd inadvertantly indexed a lot of pages I'd meant to exclude, and I figured it would be easier to delete and re-index the site than to manually remove a few hundred pages.
So I deleted the site, and tried to re-index. But it won't re-index.
I always get:
SITE : http://www.freepress.net/
Exclude paths :
- news/article.php
- news/headlines.php
- pipermail/
- mailman/
- news/print.php
1:http://www.freepress.net/
(time : 00:00:06)
No link in temporary table
links found : 1

Optimizing tables...
Indexing complete ! [Back] to admin interface.
I've spent some time looking through the message boards because I know this is a common problem. I think I've covered all the bases here...
- deleted and re-created the mySQL tables to make sure nothing was corrupt
- set PHPDIG_IN_DOMAIN to true
- set LIMIT_TO_DIRECTORY to false
- tried indexing different sites, both on an off my server, to no avail
- set search depth to a high number, links per to 0, and use update sites table to "no" (as well as trying amny other combinations of values)
- checked that allow_url_fopen was on, and safe mode is off
- made sure I was running a recent, stable release of PhpDig (1.8.7)
- checked my robots.txt (which is set how I want it: excluding a few things)
Charter (or anyone else), is there anything else I can try? FYI, the server is running Mac OS X 10.2.x, mySQL 4.1.44, and php 4.3.11, if that helps.
I'm desperate.
Thanks!
