error: log table missing

I have tried to install version 1.8.3.

I have followed the instructions and every thing seemed to work until I went to the .../admin/index.php to configure the system.

When I tried to get in, there is an error message telling me that the logs table is missing. Indeed I go to the database and I see a bunch of tables created (that by the way are different from the ones listed in the documentation) but the logs table is not there.

What can I do?

There is a bug in the install.php file when you "run create tables" only option.
I run it locally (I have installed Apache on my desktop) with the "create database" option and it indeed created the logs table.......then I uploaded it to my web server and everything seemed to work fine (I have not tested everything yet though).

But this is obviously not the way it was meant to be done :-)
